Default Saying MashAllah TbarkAllah to remove the evil eye is bid'a

All praise is to Allah Al hamduliLah

Preventing the evil eye by saying: MashaAllah, or MashaAllah La quwata ila biLah, or MashaAllah TabarkaAllah is innovation

Has spread amongst the people of this era statements mentionned when one sees something he likes in his brother and wanted to avoid the evil eye he says "MashaAllah TabarkaAllah" or "MashaAllah La Quwata ila biLah" thinking it was legislated to be said when he admires something in him so that his evil eye doesn't affect him like when he likes his
money or his house or his son or his clothe or his farm... as if he didn't mention it, he will hurt him with evil eye

Are these statements legislated or is it bid'a innovation

Indeed these statements in these matters are innovations as dhikr, du'a, rememberance or invocations is a worship. And for a worship to be accepted two conditions after the tawheed oneness has to be applied

A_ Sincerety Ikhlass
B_And Following accordingly the mutaba'a

The Mutaba'a is to follow the Prophet, peace be upon him, to do what he did (pbuh) and stay away from what he stayed away from

And doing what the prophet (pbuh) did not do in islam is innovation
The evidence of that is the words of the Prophet peace be upon him in Bukhari and Muslim, "anything in the matter of ours (islam) that is not a part
of it will be rejected

And in a narration of Muslim whomever did something that is not in accordance to ours will have it rejected
Following the prophet peace and blessing be upon him in worship must be done at any era, at any place, for all reasons, in all aspects and in the right quantity

And if he said MashaAllah to remove the evil eye he did not follow the prophet peace and blessings be upon him in the reason

To follow the prophet (pbuh) is to mention what was ordered by the Prophet peace be upon him and to say "Baraka Allahu Lak or Baraka Allahu 'aleyk" for that reason

The origin in the remembrance is to stop where the prophet pbuh stopped. It is not permissible for anyone to mention these innovative statements by his own reasoning or his tradition without any reference to the Quran and the Sunnah and the actions of the Sahaba may Allah be pleased with them all

That mental reasoning or that kind of following is the methodology of
the Mu'tazila

1) What is the legislated supplication to remove the evil eye

The prophet sala Allah alayhi wa salam has shown this in the most complete way as it has come in
the muwata of Malik radia Allah anhu that Muhammad ibn Abi Umama ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf heard his father say, "My father, Sahl ibn Hunayf did a ghusl at al-Kharrar. He removed the jubbah he had on while Amir ibn Rabia was watching, and Sahl was a man with beautiful white skin. Amir said to him, 'I have never seen anything like what I have seen today, not even the skin of a virgin.' Sahl fell ill on the spot, and his condition grew worse. Somebody went to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and told him that Sahl was ill, and could not go with him. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to him, and Sahl told him what had happened with Amir. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Why does one of you kill his brother? Why did you not say, "May Allah bless you?" (ala barakt) The evil eye is true. Do wudu from it.' Amir did wudu from it and Sahl went with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and there was nothing wrong with him

In the statements of the prophet sala Allah alayhi wa salam 'ala barakt' why did you not say may Allah bless you, in it is shown what to say when you see something you like in your brother and you afraid of hurting him with the evil eye. Ala barakt (did you say may Allah bless you) was explained with what has come from Muamr al Uzadi in his collection with a sahih narration that the prophet sala Allah alayhi wa salam said If one of you sees what he likes he must make du'a for him to be blessed
And has come from Ibn Majah that the prophet sala Allah 'alayhi wa salam said if one of you sees something he likes in his brother, he must ask for blessings for him

As well as narrated by Ahmed in his Musnad and by al-Bayhaqi and al-Tabaraniand and al-Hakaam in his mustadrak and also Abi 'Asim all through Abi Umama ibn Sahl and they all agreed upon his statement sala Allah alayhi wa salam for the one that was afflicted with the evil eye "Amir" ibn Rabiaa. Ala barakt, its meaning is what has come in the other narration: if you see something you like in your brother ask for blessing by supplicating

The supplication legislated for removing the evil eye is the supplication that the sunnah of the prophet sala Allah alayhi wa salam has clarified in the explained narrations among them that he supplicates for him in blessings as stated by ibn al Qaym and ibn Abd al-Barr in their tafsir (explanation) as they said to say Allahuma barek feeh or 'alayh

2) Meaning of Ala barakt did you say may Allah bless

The blessing means growth or increase
And al-tabrik is the supplication of blessings

Al-Suyuti said in al-deebaaj, the blessings or al-baraka is requesting an increase in goodness and dignity and it was also said cleansing and stability... The meaning of the prophet sala Allah 'alayhi wa salam 'ala barakt' is explained by That he supplicates for him in blessings saying Allahuma barek feeh or 'alayh

The meaning of the prophet sala Allah 'alayh wa salam ala barakt that he says tabarka Allah that is not correct because the meaning of tabarkAllah is to glory and venerate and that is for Allah in
reverance it has nothing to do with supplicating blessings for the appointed one

And may the peace and blessings be upon our prophet Muhammed
