It has been said
اَلْعَالِمُ النَّبِيلُ الَّذِي يَكْتُبُ أَحْسَنُ مَا يَسْمَعُ
The noble scholar is the one who writes down the best of what he hears
وَ يَحْفُظُ أَحْسَنُ مَا يَكْتُبُ
he memorizes the best of what he has written
وَ يَحَدِّثُ أَحْسَنُ مَا يَحْفُظُ.
and he narrates the best of what he has memorized
